Juan Carlos Osorio to face M¨¦xico for the first time

The Mexican Football Federation and Soccer United Marketing released today Paraguay as M¨¦xico's next rival for the previously announced #MexTour match.

This will mark the first time former M¨¦xico's head coach Juan Carlos Osorio will face the team since his arrival with Paraguay. Osorio led M¨¦xico from 2015 until the end of World Cup 2018, posting a record of 33 wins, nine losses and, ten draws.

The match will be played during the March FIFA window for which both teams are expected to bring their top players. Both squads have faced each other 19 times, with M¨¦xico leading in victories with 10, while the South Americans have only four. Last time both teams met was during M¨¦xico U.S. Tour in 2017 with M¨¦xico winning 2-1 in Seattle.

The U.S Tour of the Mexican National team has become one of the most popular sports events, with an average of approximately 63,000 fans per game during the 2018 edition.

The Mexican National Team has been able to use this matches not only to prepare for important competitions, such as the World Cup or CONCACAF Gold Cup but also to increase their fan base all across North America with nearly 85 games played since 2002.

The tour will visit a number of cities across the States this coming year. Starting on March with M¨¦xico facing Chile on the 22nd in San Diego and Paraguay the 26th in Santa Clara.
